I know I’m forgetting something. Ever felt the same?  Ever had one of those memory moments? You know the ones where you are dying to remember something you were going to say or do and the thought completely eludes you? Well, food might be an answer to managing your memory issues. The good news is that there are certain foods which may improve your brain health. Get Smart and Eat Up! Here are few fabulous brain foods I don’t want you to forget.

Brain Foods You Shouldn't Forget to EatBlueberries: I know, I know every single health expert you read talks about eating blueberries and with good reason!!  If you’re not already, grab those blue jewels and start eating. Blueberries are so rich in antixodants and these cool polyphenolic compounds which can actually prevent and reverse age-related cognitive decline. Try adding blueberries to your oatmeal, yogurt and salads. Better the benefit by buying wild blueberries.

Green and Black Tea: Theanine is the name of the tea game! This fabulous nutrient may reduce your anxiety, decrease stroke risk, and improve learning. Now, it can’t be just any tea; to get the health benefit, you’ve got to freshly brew it (and please, skip the sweetener). Go green, go black, go hot, go iced, go get some!!

Cocoa: Okay, I’m not talking about chocolate flavored donuts or candy bars here. I’m talking about flavonol rich cocoa; flavonols can improve blood flow to the brain and get you thinking with greater clarity. Remember this: The healthiest way to incorporate cocoa into your diet is by using raw unsweetened cocoa powder (skip the saturated fat and sugar in dark chocolate junk foods).  Sprinkle a little on your yogurt, fresh fruit, cereals and smoothies.

Green Leafy Veggies:Go green! Those leafy greens can slow cognitive decline. Chew those greens fast, decline slow! Fill your plate with kale, collards, spinach, swiss chard, cabbage and romaine.

Okay, it’s time for you to go grab a few of those fabulous brain food favorites and remember all the important things in your life. Get to it!!
