I hear it all the time. I can’t do it. I don’t do it. I shouldn’t do it. I won’t do it. I can’t workout. I don’t eat vegetables. I shouldn’t push myself. I won’t make the change…

What if you did the things that seemed the hardest | YouAnew Lifestyle NutritionNow, hear me out. What if you did? What if you did workout? What if you did eat vegetables? What if you did push yourself? What if you did make the change? What if for 30 days, you did all the things you thought you couldn’t.

You see, attitude is everything, and “Whether you think that you can or that you can’t, you are usually right.” –Henry Ford.

For whatever reason, I grew up hating seafood. I thought it smelled weird and tasted gross.  I was repulsed by the very thought of tuna or salmon on my plate. After I heard about the health benefits of oily fish, and I realized how great it is for my heart, memory and skin, I decided that I did like it. I decided that not only would I eat it, I would love it. I changed my attitude towards fish.

I ran track and played field hockey in high school.  Honestly, I hated to run, and I hated laps. I hated the feeling of being sweaty and out of breath. I hated the ache in my legs and that wiped out feeling. One morning, I thought to myself what if I did— What if I did love to run? What if I loved to start my day by pounding out 5 miles? I changed my attitude toward running, and I became a runner.

I work with people every day who have successfully learned how to adopt this What if I did philosophy.  You can absolutely convince yourself that you love the foods that nourish your body. You can tell yourself that you like to exercise and that you have the time. Rather than dreading it, learn to like it.

What if you did look your best? What if you did fit into your favorite clothes? What if did have more energy? What if you did feel amazing?
