Being Skinny Won’t Make You Happy
Here’s what I know: being skinny won’t necessarily make you happy. Happiness, joy, peace and contentment aren’t wrapped up in a jean size, and YOU are about more than that number that rides in the back of your pants. But, I also know that when you feel like garbage, and your clothes don’t fit, and exhaustion rules your day, that your confidence, productivity, and love of life will fast fade. And for those of you who are already “skinny,” you know (as much as I do) that there are a lot of other areas that you need to work on in order to feel a true sense of wellness. Wellness isn’t just about the absence of disease.
Excuses or Results: You Can’t Have Both
The daily routine of work, children, housekeeping and relationships lead to an increasingly crazy schedule causing the busy, overworked woman (or man) feeling as though a workout session is simply a luxury that they cannot afford. For most people, a 30 minute run on the treadmill feels as if it could be better spent answering the on slot of work email, preparing for tomorrow’s grind or spent with friends or family. And, I can’t blame people for feeling this way; take it from a woman juggling a professional career, a wonderful partner, family, and friendships, life can be an exercise by itself…

Healthy Wild Blueberry Muffins
Some mornings, I just need a blueberry muffin!! The problem with most muffins you bake and buy is that they are loaded with nasty “natural” (white sugar, butter…) and test tube (come on now, don’t eat trans-fat, polysorbate 60 and HFCS) ingredients that aren’t going to give you energy for the day and health for a lifetime. So, let’s YouAnew your blueberry muffins! Let’s make ‘em gluten and dairy free for all you wheat and milk sensitive folks and without cane sugar. But let’s make them taste so good, no one will know that they are healthy.
Keep Your Season Bright and Your Body Light
‘Tis the season to be eating…and packing on the pounds! Ahh!! Hear me out. I know it’s tempting with all those cookies, hot chocolate, cakes, pies, gravies, gingerbread, stuffing, candied yams, candy canes, and buche de noel lurking around every corner, but let’s be serious. The holidays are not a license to eat and yes, those calories still count! Why in the season of peace, are you going to war with your body? Come on now, war no more!!
